If ever I have witnessed just how powerful a tool the internet is for global communication, I have witnessed it through 'The Dime Shirt'. What a truly amazing experience it has been so far: we have had in the space of about 20 days over 110,000 hits to the website from all corners of the globe, as well as hundreds and hundreds of emails all asking about it. I would just like to say a massive thankyou to all of you who are supporting this idea, and we are well on the way to making this a huge thing world wide for the heavy metal communtiy. CHEERS!
A big thankyou also goes out to everyone who attended the 'Justice For Jack' Benefit show at The Arthouse on the 18th. We managed to raise over $2000 for Jack's legal defence. Please visit www.justice4jack.com for more information on this truly extraordinary case.
We are still hard at work writing new material for the next release, which is going really well. The only news we wish to report to you all in terms of songs so far is that we will be doing a cover of Midnight Oil's 'The Dead Heart'. The only word to describe how it is sounding so far is EXPLOSIVE. It was an amazing song in its day, and we are attempting to give it a rebirth, transforming it both musically and lyrically. You'll know what I mean when you hear it.
If you haven't heard BLOCK before, please feel free to download tracks from our 2002 release - 'NOT FOR SALE'. The title of the EP is meant to be taken literally. We gave away 4050 copies in around a year to people all over the country and beyond. We are still not sure what the new EP will be called yet, but it will also be free. And all going well we will be giving away double if not triple the amount as last time.
